Imphal, August 21 2026: Additional Chief Secretary (Textiles, Commerce and Industry) Anurag Bajpai has stated that Manipur has the potential to emerge as a successful entrepreneurial hub.

He made the statement during the observance of World Entrepreneurs' Day organised by Institution Innovation Council (IIC) of Manipur Technical University (MTU) in association with Swadeshi Jagran Manch today.

Addressing the function held at the MTU complex at Takyelpat as chief guest, Anurag said that Manipur's economy could improve if more young people focus on entrepreneurship.

He also said that aspiring and young entrepreneurs need to be familiar with the industrial policies of the Government.

Anurag said that entrepreneurs not only create employment opportunities but can also help take the State's economy to greater heights.

He also said that the youth of Manipur have the potential to become successful entrepreneurs in sectors such as agriculture, horticulture, tourism, handloom and handicrafts.

He urged MTU and other relevant institutions to guide young people to become successful job creators and problem solvers.

Saying that innovative ideas are key to becoming successful entrepreneurs, he urged the youth to showcase the products of the State to the world.

Further stating that 95 per cent of entrepreneurs in the State operate at the micro-enterprise level, Anurag said that the Government is working to help them scale up into small and medium-sized enterprises.

The programme was also attended by MTU Vice Chancellor Prof W Chandbabu, Founder Director of Globitz Webs Solution Roshinikumar Yambem, MTU Chief Finance Officer Dr Kshetrimayum Imokanta and Controller of Examination Dr L Debendra.
