Imphal, May 20 2026:
Alleging that the protracted violence besieging Manipur is a manifestation of the Government of India's policy, the Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) has asserted that the Manipur violence will never cease until the Government of India wishes to bring it to an end and act accordingly.
As a part of the sustained mass agitation demanding military crackdown against Kuki narco-terrorists and an end to the alleged proxy war, the All Phumlou Apunba Meira Nupi Lup staged a protest demonstration at Phumlou today under this aegis of COCOMI .
Speaking at the protest site, COCOMI convenor YK Dhiren alleged that widespread and sustained violence which erupted on May 3, 2023 is a machination of the Government of India.
As such, bringing an end to the protracted violence is up to the Government of India but Indian leaders have no intention to stop the violence, he said.
In the face of such a diabolic policy, it is imperative for all the communities to come together and launch a strong democratic movement collectively, Dhiren said.
Forewarning that the Government of India will do everything to jeopardise and break apart any collective movement of the communities, the COCOMI convenor underscored the importance of knowing who the enemies are.
Every man and woman must give priority to neutralising the policy of creating animosity and conflicts among communities, and stopping killings through proxy army, Dhiren said.
He accused the Government of India of scheming continuously to destroy the integrity of Manipur.
Similar protest demonstrations were also staged at Yaingangpokpi Bazar and Langmeithet.
There the protesters shouted slogans demanding an end to the proxy war, military crackdown against Kuki narco-terrorists and Government reply to the seven questions raised by COCOMI and the public.
