Imphal, May 18 2024:
After Dhaka, United Committee Manipur (UCM) has called on Meiteis in Tripura to unitedly face all foes challenging Manipur's integrity and Meiteis' identity.
The committee made the call as it continued its cultural exchange programme and launched a handloom mela at Tripura's Bamutia Berimura.
The "North East Cultural Exchange Programme 2024" was organised by the UCM in association with Puthiba Welfare and Cultural Society, Agartala and Berimura Manipuri Youth Association, Tripura.
Speaking at the event, UCM president Konthoujam Joychadra said saving Manipur requires unity among all Meitei communities residing in different States and countries.

The Meiteis must never be under anyone and all foes challenging Manipur's integrity must be destroyed, he said.
He said it is high time for Meiteis to promote its culture and tradition.
There shouldn't be any ambiguity of culture and history.
All of the Meiteis must learn and understand their culture and history, he said, asserting there have been attempts made by many to promote concocted history.
While there is no truth in their claim, some have floated "Anglo-Kuki War" as something that has taken place in Manipur, and gates celebrating the so-called "war" have been built, he added.
The cultural exchange programme and the handloom mela will help integrate the Meiteis of Tripura and Manipur.
It will bring the people of the same community together and strengthen their bonds, he said.
Taltala Gram Panchayat Pradhan T Niyati Dutt, East Bamutia GP Pradhan Manju Biswas and UCM vice president YK Dhiren among others attended the event.
