Sir Syed day celebrated

Aligarh Muslim University-Alumni Association of Manipur (AMU-AAM) observed the 197th birth anniversary of the revolutionary Muslim leader and scholar Sir Syed Day, 2014 at Thoubal Moijing community hall today.
Md Abdul Salam, MP of Rajya Sabha, Md Abdul Nasir, Minister, Agriculture & Fisheries Government of Manipur, Dr Md Maniruddin Sheikh, former Speaker, Government of Manipur, Dr Kheiruddin Sheikh, Associate Professor and HoD, Management Studies, DM College of Commerce, Md Shahid Khan, Lieutenant Colonel, Md Abdul Helim khan, Associate Professor and SN Islamuddin, Associate Professor, Lilong Haoreibi College were the presiding members of the event.
Md Bariyajuddin Shah, secretary, AMU-AAM, Manipur delivered the keynote address of the function.
The AMU-AAM has been observing the event since its inception in 2012.The association is formed by the alumni and present students of Aligarh Muslim University.
They have been working in the education sector and has conducted educational awareness campaign and career counselling in three villages - Mayang Imphal, Sangaiyumpham and Kwakta.
AMU-AAM also felicitated members for their role in their respective fields including, Md Arif Majahid, Manipur Finance Service (MFS), Nahamuda Begam, Manipur Forest Service (MFS) and Chingthangkhomba, Manipur Finance Service (MFS) .
The program concluded with the session of AMU-Tarana followed by a traditional dinner attended by more than 200 persons.
