Imphal, June 16 2024:
The burning of two trucks loaded with construction materials at Bishnupur's Tronglaobi yesterday was very unfortunate, said Bhartia Infra Projects Limited (BIPL) Guwahati office today.
In a statement, BIPL said it is purely a company that is focused on improving infrastructure and connectivity and has not acted in favour of or against any community in Manipur.
"Our primary goal is to enhance infrastructure and connectivity, which will contribute to overall development of the region and the Nation.
We firmly believe in the principles of equality and inclusivity, and our work is not influenced by any bias towards or against any community.
Our efforts are solely focused on delivering quality infrastructure that will serve the people of India and support National growth," it said.
While two trucks were set ablaze, another two were damaged by unknown persons at Tronglaobi yesterday, it said.
Indicating that the trucks were carrying construction materials for improving the Churachandpur-Tuivai stretch of the National Highway 102B, BIPL said it has been on the project since 2020 .
The work of Churachandpur to Tuivai section of NH 102B was awarded by the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) in 2020, and it was 80 percent completed before the conflict erupted on May 3, 2023.The company's sole focus is to improve infrastructure and connectivity in the region, it said.
Amid the ongoing violent conflict in Manipur, BIPL has lost several equipment, machinery and vehicles and its employees and workers have also faced attacks.
Also, BIPL has faced several huge monetary demands, and its work camps in several districts have been torched amid the conflict.
Even after all these incidents have happened with the BIPL, it is committed to bring development in the region, it said.
