Imphal, July 15 2024: NPP legislators viz; Janghemlung Panmei, Kh Loken, I Nalini, Th Shanti and M Rameshwar have disowned a statement made by fellow NPP MLA Sheikh Noorul Hassan which warned that the NPP may withdraw its support to the BJP-led State Government if the Government fails to take up effective steps to curb violence and bring a solution to the Manipur crisis.

A joint press release issued by the five NPP MLAs clarified that they do not support Sheikh Noorul Hassan's statement as he made the same statement at his personal level without consulting any other legislators of NPP Manipur.

NPP being a part of the NDA Government at the Centre, the NPP legislators in Manipur support the BJP-led Government in Manipur, they said.
