Imphal, January 15 2010: Atleast six activists of various underground organisations have been arrested by security forces while five Myanmar nationals were handed over to authorities of Immigration Office, Moreh.

According to a PRO IGAR (S) release, two PLA cadres were apprehended from Seijang of Ukhrul district and at Tengnoupal vehicle check post by AR troops of the 23rd and 29th battalions respectively on January 14 .

After arrest of a PLA cadre namely Manao Singh (29) s/o W Iboncha Singh of Seijang during a search operation at Seijang areas at about 9.45 pm yesterday, the 23 AR troops have handed over the captive to Lamlai police station.

The other PLA cadre identified as SS Cpl Tourangpam Sanjeet Singh alias Nongdren (24) s/o T Thanbou Singh of Kwakeithel was apprehended at about 5.20 pm while travelling on a Maruti Van that plies between Imphal and Moreh.

Sanjeet has been handed over to Imphal West police station, added the PRO.

The release further informed of five Myanmar nationals rounded up by 31 AR troops from Pangal basti in Chandel district at around 2 pm of January 14 .

The five have been identified as Mozel Amir Khan (31), Mazud Ahmed (25), Md Rafi (25), Zabud Ahammed (23) and Md Tamir (26) all from Chaktou of Arahan district in Myanmar.

On the otherhand, Bishnupur district police commandos in co-ordination with Military Intelligence Team (MI-Team) apprehended three KCP cadres from Bishnupur Bazar areas while one KCP (MC) cadre has been netted by commandos of Imphal East district today.

A statement issued by SP (Bpr) identified the three KCP cadres as Wahengbam Ratan Singh alias Roshan alias Rose (31) s/o W Megha Singh of Kakyai Makha Leikai; Chungkham Tomba Singh (41) s/o (L) Ch Nongyai Singh of Kakyai Mayai Leikai and Oinam Lata Devi (36) d/o (L) O Yaima Singh of Oinam Mamang Leikai.

One Alto car black in colour bearing regd no.MN03P/0141 and a grey colour Honda Activa (MN01Q/2756) have been recovered from the trio, statement maintained adding that during preliminary interrogation the arrested cadres disclosed of involvement in extortion campaign in Bishnupur and NHPC.

They were arrested while trying to extort money from the NHPC employees, the SP said.

The KCP (MC) cadre arrested at about 10 am yesterday by Imphal east district police commandos from Porompat Pangal Leirak has been identified as Oinam Kanthamala Singh alias Kiranjit (41) s/o O Amuba Singh of Thanga Tongbram Leikai but staying at Porompat pangal Leirak.

On verification he (kanthamala) disclosed of joining the KCP (MC) organisation in July 2009 through one SS Cpl Netaji alias Amarjit and was working under the command of Jenny of Kakwa nameirakpam Leikai, a statement issued by the Imphal East SP added.
