Imphal, September 14 2025:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the State, which has been grappling with a crisis, brought no benefits, as expected, said International Peace and Social Advancement (IPSA), Kangleipak president Maibam Bisheshor.
IPSA observed its 31st foundation day at Imphal College today.
Addressing the function, Bisheshor claimed that the Government of India has been shielding Kuki narco terrorists by holding a series of talks with them.
He reiterated that they had not expected from the Prime Minister's visit.
IPSA was founded to advance the cause of Manipur and has actively participated in various movements, he maintained.
While the Government of India (Gol) advocates a zero-tolerance policy against terrorism, it has been engaging in talks with Kuki armed groups involved in terrorist activities, he stated.
Questioning the grounds for extending the Suspension of Operations (SoO) agreement while Kuki armed groups were openly engaged in a violent campaign against the Meeteis, Bisheshor accused the Government of India (GoI) of contradicting its stated policy against terrorism.
Laws should be applied equally to all, he said.
The programme was also attended by former JNIMS Director Dr Laishram Deben and several former presidents of IPSA including Sapmcha Jadumani, Yumnamcha Dilipkumar, Johnson Elangbam, Joychandra Konthoujam, Biijit Tourangbam and Ch Shangkar among others.
