Imphal, May 14 2026:
There is nothing to expect from the BJP Government, which has been unable to curb acts of terrorism in Manipur for over three years, said Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Keisham Megha-chandra today.
He visited three Thadou individuals and two Chiru Naga persons receiving treatment at SHIJA Hospital after being injured in yesterday's ambushes in Kangpokpi and Noney and inquired about their conditions.
Speaking to the media, Meghachandra, said that ongoing conflicts among the people of Manipur will bring no expect solution other than increasing the number of casualties.
Reiterating that there is nothing to expect from the BJP Government, he added that the people themselves must take steps to restore normalcy and promote communal harmony.
The CLP leader also said that attacking civilians and taking people hostages are acts of terrorism.
What can the people expect from a Government that has failed to enforce law and order?, he asked.
He added that the Government handing cases to the NIA and offering compensation to victims of violence, falls far short of addressing the real issue.
