Imphal, December 13 2008:
Exonerating both AE Ng Robindro and SO Y Surjit against their corruption charges, the banned KCP has accused RIMS Director, Deputy Director, Medical Superintendent and Chief Account Officer of involvement in corruption within RIMS.
A press release issued by the outfit's chief project officer cum secretary, information and public relations department, Ibungo Ngangom warned that these top ranking officials of RIMS will be awarded fitting punishment at the first available opportunity.
Clarifying that the party has no relations whatsoever with Nongdrenkhomba of Taothong Lamkhai, Nando of Khangabok or Raju of Hodam Leirak, the outfit refuted the allegation of RIMS Medical Superintendent Dr Y Mohen about these individuals being Wanglen Khuman, Ibungo Ngangom and a member of the party as totally baseless.
As far as Wanglen Khuman is concerned, his real name is Naobicha Singh of Kwakeithel and he is now a deserter, Ibungo Ngangom alleged.
Regarding the safe return of AE Ng Robindro and SO Y Surjit, the two were left on their own by KCP cadres who were then armed with only pistols following outbreak of a gun fight with security forces, the outfit clarified.
Further, reacting to the statement of the Manipur Police DGP Y Joykumar issued yesterday regarding Rishikanta's killing, the outfit quoted findings of its Crime Prevention and Detection Bureau (CPDB) which hinted that Police Department has been trying to conceal alleged involvement of its personnel in the abduction and subsequent murder of Konsam Rishikanta by pointing the accusing finger at one Thoithoiba of KYKL.
The head of CPDB has further suggested that the Hyundai Getz which was allegedly used in picking up Rishikanta might be the one that was confiscated by Imphal West commandos from one Poirei of Wangkhei in November 2007 .
Saying that he is just a secretary of the party's information and public relations department and chief project officer, Ibungo Ngangom further clarified that there is no such group as KCP (Ibungo Ngangom).
The party is now functioning under a constitution based on merito-democratic centralism and is currently headed by interim president S Ningamba Meetei, conveyed the outfit.
