NK Sanjaoba remembered

Imphal, November 11 2025: The 30th death anniversary of NK Sanajaoba was observed today at his residence at Singjamei Wangma Kshetri Leikai.

Organised by the NK Sanajaoba Memorial Trust (NKSMT) and NK Sanajaoba Ningshing Thoupang Lup (NKSNTL), the programme was graced by former UNLF chairman RK Meghen, NKSNTL president Waikhom Nageshwor, and senior journalist A Mobi and South East Youth Organisation (SEYO) president Ksh Thoiba as chief guest, president, and guests of honour respectively.

Imphal Times Editor Rinku Khumukcham served as the resource person for the programme.

The observance began with the offering of floral tributes and a salute to the monument of the deceased.

Addressing the function, RK Meghen said that NK Sanajaoba was a pioneer in the field of investigative journalism in Manipur whose contributions to the State will be remembered by the people for generations.

He stated that NK Sanajaoba was the Editor of Lamyanba, a monthly journal of the Pan Manipur Youth League, and a founding member of the UNLF.

Meghen emphasised that Manipur, which has been facing a series of crises, needs a leader like NK Sanajaoba who was not afraid to go to jail repeatedly for the sake of truth.

Describing NK Sanajaoba as a man of integrity, he added that the younger generation needs to study the life and struggle of NK Sanajaoba.
