Awareness programme held in Chandel

An awareness programme on Drug Awareness and Wellness Navigation (DAWN) under the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA)'s "For a Drug Free India Scheme 2025" was organised at the RC-SWACD Office, Japhou Bazar, Chandel district, on Friday.
The programme was organised by the Resource Centre for Social Welfare and Community Development (RC-SWACD) in collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Chandel, with the objective of creating awareness on the harmful effects of drug abuse and promoting a healthy, drug-free society.
The programme also aimed to educate drug users and their families about the legal rights, assistance and support available through the legal services authorities.
Participants were encouraged to seek appropriate treatment, rehabilitation and other support services to overcome substance abuse.
Resource person Dr Shantikumar Singh delivered a presentation on various aspects of drug abuse, including its harmful effects, preventive measures, treatment and rehabilitation, legal rights of drug users, the availability of free legal aid through the District Legal Services Authority, and the important role of families and communities in supporting recovery.
