Imphal, May 08 2026: Security forces have arrested four individuals along with 1.140 Kg of brown sugar.

A combined team of Senapati District Police, Special Operation Team Senapati, women police personnel of Senapati, troops of 16 AR and 78 Bn CRPF intercepted one Bolero vehicle with Nagaland registration number at T Khullen check-point along Imphal-Dimapur highway at around 7 pm on May 7 .

The driver of the vehicle was identified as K Dovile (42) s/o A Kapane of Laii village, Senapati.

On searching the vehicle, 99 soap cases containing 1.140 Kg of brown sugar were found concealed close to the radiator.

During preliminary interrogation, K Dovile revealed that the drug items and the Bolero jeep belong to Nemneilhing Haokip (42) w/o Henkhomang haokip of Saikul Touthang Veng.

Acting on his disclosure, Nemneilhing Haokip and her husband who came in a car (Swift) were also intercepted and arrested, sources said.

The arrested persons were later handed over to Senapati police station along with the seized drugs.

The three drug dealers were produced before the Court concerned today and the Court remanded them in police custody till May 14.On further examination, they revealed one more drug dealer identified as Chinkhokim (53) d/o Thangkhomang Haokip of S Moloham village, presently staying at Kipmunnom village, Churachandpur.

She was also arrested in connection with the same case last night, the sources said.
