Imphal, July 07 2024: Chief Minister N Biren Singh has wished the people of Manipur, especially Hindus on the occasion of Kang (Rath Yatra) .

The celebration of the Kang begins on the second day of Ingen month of Manipuri lunar calendar and ends on the 10th day of the month.

Hindus believe that sighting Lord Jagannath on his chariot frees one from the cycle of rebirth.

Devotees also make efforts to touch the ropes of the chariot, as it is believed that the Lord bless those who pull his chariot, said the Chief Minister in his message to the people.

"I join the people of Manipur in the celebration of Kang and pray to Lord Jagannath to shower his believers with spiritual merit and final liberation.

May the Lord bless us with the courage to face the truth, and the State to peace and progress," said the CM .
