Entrepreneurship awareness programme held at Champu Khangpok village

The North East Women Entrepreneurs' Association (NEWEA), Manipur Chapter, under the Development and Facilitation Office, Imphal, Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), organised a one-day entrepreneurship awareness programme at Champu Khangpok village, a floating settlement in Loktak.
The programme was attended by MSME Assistant Director, Manoj Sharma and NEWEA Manipur Chapter president and BK Chanu Foundation, chairperson Kangabam Bijaya.
Speaking on the occasion, Manoj Sharma said the awareness programme under MSME was the first of its kind to be held in the village.
He highlighted the various schemes and projects available under MSME, assuring every possible support to the villagers in accessing skill development and financial assistance opportunities.
In her address, Kangabam Bijaya described Champu Khangpok as a unique village with about 300 households and a population of nearly 900, who primarily depend on fishing for their livelihood.
She drew attention to the acute shortages of basic facilities such as clean drinking water, healthcare, education, and sanitation, and urged authorities to address these challenges at the earliest.
The programme also included the distribution of sanitary pads, medicines, edible items, and clothes.
Resource person Ashinikumar Maibam, Leonard Mayanglambam and Oinam Ranjan delivered talks on entrepreneurship opportunities for the villagers.
