Governor visits 'Hanging Village'

Senapati, July 06 2026:
Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla, accompanied by the First Lady, visited Yangkhullen village, known as the Hanging village in Senapati district on Monday.
During the visit, the Governor interacted with villagers from both Yangkhullen and Willong Khullen, who submitted separate memoranda highlighting their grievances and developmental needs.
Responding to their requests, Governor Bhalla assured the villagers that he would make every effort to address their demands.
The Governor was accompanied by the Deputy Commissioner of the district, Superintendent of Police and other officials.
The villagers expressed immense joy and gratitude over the Governor's visit, describing it as a historic occasion for the remote villages.
Hezeiteing Zeme, chief of Yangkhullen village stated that the villagers were happy to welcome the Governor and his wife.
He expressed hope that the Governor would convert assurances given into action.
The villagers urged the Governor for construction of a motorable road from the area to Dziiko valley, said the chief.
The Governor was also urged to upgrade the existing residential school in the area and set up one police station.
