Imphal, December 05: Going ahead with its drive to cleanse the education system in the State under Operation New Kangleipak, the proscribed KYKL has today stated that, now its attention will focus on the school examinations of all classes from the primary level.

In a statement issued to the press, the KYKL said that cleaning the system from the grass root level is its strong belief, but it was first constrained to focus only on the Class X and Class XII examination as these exams were deemed the most important in the life of a student.

However now with some positive headways being made, the outfit will start focusing on the examinations conducted at the schools from the primary level and added that teachers, particularly the headmasters, should ensure that no unfair means and malpractices take place during the examinations.

The examination hall is like the Court room for the students where they will be tested and the examination is also a test to see whether the students have imbibed what have been taught through out the whole year.

As such, it is important that the sanctity of the examination hall is not polluted just because some teachers are not ready to dispense with their duties, said the statement.

Poor infrastructure and lack of adequate teachers cannot justify the use of unfair means in the examination ball, said the outfit and added to many students, the examination is merely not a question of passing or failing but is also about competition.

In such a circumstance, it would be grossly wrong for the teachers to mislead the students by encouraging them to resort to unfair means, said the statement.

Teachers should adhere to certain principles and ethics and those who-are in this profession only to earn their salaries should get their act together.

Students should not be corrupted because of some teachers who are not ready to acknowledge their responsibility and act accordingly, it added.

The KYKL also reminded the Government school teachers that private schools are doing much better than them, though the salary of the private school teachers is only half of what the Government teachers get.

Moreover the Govt school teachers have retirement benefits too.
