Imphal, July 05 2024: Since becoming the Opposition leader in the Lok Sabha, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi would be visiting different States of the country and Manipur has been chosen as his first destination.

Rahul Gandhi is expected to land here on July 8 and he would go to different places including Moirang, Churachandpur etc on the same day, and interact with the internally displaced persons taking refuge in relief camps, sources informed.

He may also go to Jiribam on the same day.

However, as the Congress leader's proposed visit is limited to just one day, the exact itinerary has not been finalised yet, said the sources.

Nonetheless, apart from interacting with IDPs, Rahul Gandhi would also talk with civil society organisations and intellectuals at Imphal.

He would leave Imphal for Nagaland on July 8 itself.
