Sainik School rolls out red carpet for Bhalla

Accompanied by First Lady of Manipur Jyoti Grover Bhalla, Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla paid his maiden visit to Sainik School, Imphal today and interacted with the cadets.
The Governor was received with full ceremonial honours, including a Guard of Honour by the school cadets, followed by a wreath-laying ceremony at the 'Amar Jawan' memorial stone.
The Governor was joined by Major General SS Kartikeya, GOC Red
Shield Division, and Chairman, Local Board of Administration (LBA), Sainik School Imphal along with other senior dignitaries.
Colonel A Rajiv, Principal of Sainik School Imphal, formally welcomed the dignitaries.
During the visit, Governor Bhalla inaugurated a state-of-the-art Water ATM, constructed under the aegis of the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) .
The facility has been constructed to ensure the availability of clean drinking water for cadets and staff.
In alignment with the spirit of Van Mahotsav and Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam, a tree plantation drive was also conducted.
Saplings were planted by the Governor, the First Lady, the GOC Red Shield Division and cadets.
Governor Bhalla also undertook a comprehensive tour of the school infrastructure, including the Academic Block, Cadets' Mess, hostels and laboratories.
He also reviewed ongoing development projects, including the construction of the Girls' Hostel in the school campus.
A special programme was later held at the Vikram Batra Auditorium, where the Governor formally released the school's annual magazine, "Orchid" .
This was followed by a vibrant cultural programme featuring patriotic songs and traditional dances, presented by the cadets.
Speaking at the event, the Governor expressed confidence that the cadets of Sainik School Imphal would go on to excel in diverse fields and hold positions of great responsibility.
During his interaction, he commended the cadets for their discipline and spirit and encouraged them to strive for excellence while upholding the values of service, responsibility, and patriotism.
He also appreciated the school staff and Sainik School, Imphal as a whole for their dedication to nurturing future leaders and moulding the youth of Manipur into capable and responsible citizens of the Nation.
