Imphal, March 04: Unidentified persons lobbed a grenade yesterday at M/S Th Sorojini Filling Station, Wangbal of Thoubal districtat around 9:30 pm .Fortunately, no casualty has been reported in the blast.

According to Police, the grenade was India-made HE.

Condemning the incident, women folk from Khangabok, Wangjing, Wangbal, Langthabal, Khongjom and Athokpam areas today staged a sit-in-protest in front of the petrol pump from 1 pm to 4 pm.

Saying that she has not received any monetary demand from any UG group, the owner of the petrol pump Thokchom Sorojini requested the concerned to clarify about the incident.

Meanwhile, some unidentified persons today planted an India-made grenade under the gate of one Konsam Bhorot at Wangjing Bazar.

The grenade was retrieved at around 7 pm by Thoubal District Police commando and 34 AR.

Bhorot runs a grocery shop.

Gives in: Following the instruction given by commander of Unit-II Task Force and Recovery of the proscribed PREPAK, Field Inspector of Sericulture Dept Irong Kesho of Khongman, who allegedly collected Rs 10,000 each from 15 farms on the assurance of providing loan facilities under the Sericulture Project, surrendered to the outfit, according to information received by the press.
