Imphal, June 03 2024: In a gruesome incident, a husband allegedly stabbed and killed his wife in Imphal West district today morning.

The deceased woman has been identified as Heikrujam ongbi Pishakmacha (56), and her husband who allegedly killed her at their house has been identified as H Bijoy.

The incident took place at around 10 am at Khagempalli Pankha Ngana-ppi Thong Mamang.

Infor- mation culled from the locals said they heard the couple having heated arguments in the morning.

H Bijoy is an "Arangpham" by profession.

He allegedly stabbed Pishakmacha on the left side of her belly with a knife he uses daily in his profession.

Pishakmacha was rushed to Asian Hospital at Kwakeithel but succumbed to her injury.

The body has been taken to RIMS mortuary for postmortem.

Singjamei police have arrested H Bijoy.

Pishakmacha was a mother of five children.
