Imphal, February 03: A preparatory free coaching camp for the HSLC Exam 2008 organised by the Tangkhul Aze Katamnao Long (TAKL) with assistance from the UNIDEP Campaign concluded today at Irong village in Senapati district.

The free coaching camp was opened on January 5 at Southern Tangkhul Naga Baptist Association High School.

Today's closing function was attended by TAKL president Joel Angkang, UNIDEP Campaign convenor and AMUCO president R Yangsosong Koireng, AMUCO advisor Dr Dhanabir Laishram and AMESCO president LS Guite as presidium members of the occasion.

The coaching camp was attended by more than 45 students belonging to different villages of southern Tangkhul region.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Dhanabir exhorted the students to learn and study as much as possible during youth.

Stating that holding degree, diploma certificates or winning medals does not necessarily mean quality education, the AMUCO advisor noted that only when education incorporates and succeeds in inculcating national character to students, the objectives of quality education can be accomplished.

While learning text books, students should imbibe the sense of patriotism, diligence and firmness of thought.

R Yangsosong Koireng reiterated that the UNIDEP Campaign was launched on November 18, 2006 to save the indigenous people who are facing a grave threat to their survival from total disappearance.

Stating that the UNIDEP Campaign also incorporates development programmes, the AMUCO president informed that in addition to southern Tangkhul region, the UNIDEP Campaign Committee is assisting in similar free coaching camps in three places in hill districts.
