Imphal, July 02 2025:
Normal vehicular movement along Imphal-Jiribam road (National Highway-37) has been disrupted completely yet again due to landslides at Shanti Khunou and Nung Dolan.
The fresh landslides along the route have left numerous vehicles, including loaded trucks bound for Imphal stranded.
According to reports, the first landslide occurred at Shanti Khunou around 9 am, disrupting vehicular movement and things took a turn for the worse when Nung Dolan was also hit by a landslide.
It is reported that landslides continued to occur at Nung Dolan even as debris clearance efforts were underway.
Multiple vehicles, including loaded trucks and oil tankers carrying essential goods to Imphal under security escort, are stranded on the highway while empty trucks en route to Jiribam are stuck at Noney and nearby areas.
NHIDCL officials have inspected the landslide-affected areas, and restoration work is in progress to reopen the highway.
While light four-wheelers have started passing through, reports indicate that loaded trucks may be allowed to cross the landslide-hit areas starting tomorrow (Thursday) .
