CM lauds Panthoibi Natya Mandir

Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh attended the 54 th foundation day celebration of Panthoibi Natya Mandir which was held at Shri Shri Nityainanda Mandop, Yumnam Leikai, Imphal West on May 1 .
Addressing the gathering, Khemchand commended the Panthoibi Natya Mandir for conducting a workshop on Manipuri Pony and Sagol Kangjei, in addition to focusing on cultural themes.
It is encouraging that the organisation has provided training to the youngsters on Sagol Kangjei during the workshop, he said.
Delivering his presidential speech, Art and Culture Minister Khuraijam Loken Singh commended all the awardees of the function who have brought fame and laurel to the State.
Manipur has been widely recognised all over the world for its rich art and culture and sports.
The Chief Minister also distributed certificates to 31 youngsters who participated in the workshop, according to a press release issued by the Chief Minister's Secretariat.
Today's programme also included a valedictory function of a 15-day workshop on "Strengthening Culture & Value in Education through the means of Sports especially Sagol Kangjei (Polo) of Manipur", and reception of awardees and presentation of Minglen Khonga, 2026 .
The Chief Minister also honoured theatre personalities including Akham Niladhaja Khuman Manipur State Kala Academy (MSKA) Awardee 2024 in Theatre, Sarungbam Beeren, MSKA Awardee 2024 in Theatre, Khwairakpam Bishwamittra Singh, MSKA Awardee 2024 in Theatre, Heisnam Sabitri, Bahuroopi Ranga Gourava 2026, Rangayana Mysore, Govt, of Karnataka, Sanglakpam Khogendro Sharma, MSKA Awardee 2023 in Rasdhari, Rajkumar Khogendra Singh, MSKA Awardee 2024 in Dance, Yumnam Mangi Singh, Manipuri Sahitya Parishad Awardee (Sangeet Bhushan) 2024 (Monoharsai) .
The award "Minglen Khonga 2026" was presented to Laimayum Minakumari Devi.
The programme was attended by Director, Planning Department, Dr RK Radhesana Devi, awardees and local residents, among others.
