Imphal, March 01 2025:
Centre should abrogate the Suspension of Operation (SoO) and use force to recover arms from the Kukis if they do not surrender their weapons within the extended deadline set by the Governor for the surrender of looted and illegally held arms, stated Shiv Sena Manipur unit president M Tombi.
Addressing media persons at Shiv Sena state unit office at Babupara Saturday, M Tombi said firing by Kuki militants at Kongba Maru sacred shrine soon after village volunteers of the valley returned their weapons should not be taken lightly.

Responding to Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla's appeal for surrender of arms, village volunteers of the valley including Arambai Tenggol have returned their weapons.
However, the Kukis are refusing to surrender weapons until fulfilment of their demand for separate administration, he contended and urged the Centre not to remain silent on the matter.
According to M Tombi, time has come for the Centre to abrogate SoO for disruption of the peace process being initiated by the Governor and declare Kuki militants as terrorists.
Refusal of the Kukis to surrender arms is a direct challenge to the Centre and the Government of India must take equal action in both the hills and valley, he added.
