False alarm sends many fleeing

Imphal, June 30: Following a rumour that a bomb was there amidst a pile of vegetable wastes near Kasturi bridge (western side) this afternoon, business activities were disrupted and the area was deserted for about 20 minutes.

At about 4 pm, security personnel blocked all traffic in the surrounding area of Kasturi bridge and also the Nagamapal road.

Consequent upon this, there was heavy traffic congestion in the surrounding roads and lanes.

Later, a man who threw the bomb like object to the garbage pile came out and retrieved it.

Only then, it was realised that the suspected bomb was two Capacitors.

The two capacitors were inside the pack, one of silver colour and the other green.

Wires were also found attached to the capacitors.
