Moirang, December 30 2019:
Chief Minister N Biren has cate-gorically stated that there is no need for any further discussion on Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) in the State.
As a part of BJP's country-wide Jana Jagaran campaign, a rally was held today at Moirang.
The rally led by Chief Minister N Biren was flagged off from Moirang-Kumbi road and it wound up at Moirang Khunou Kangjeibung where a public meeting was also held.
Addressing the public meeting, Biren asserted that it's time for all the people to focus on productive activities rather than wasting time and energy on CAA.

Even though people were apprehensive that they may be overwhelmed by immigrants numerically, a sense of security has settled among all sections of people after the Central Govern- ment extended Inner Line Permit System (ILPS) to the State, Biren said.
Now non-local people would not be able to buy land in the State and their stay in Manipur would be restricted to limited months, he said while appealing to all concerned to stop opposing CAA.
He then advised all the aspiring candidates who wish to contest elections on BJP tickets to start due preparations.
The tasks of safeguarding the integrity of Manipur and its indigenous people are now over.
Manipur would not break apart and all indigenous people would be protected, claimed the Chief Minister.
He appealed to all the people to stay away from those groups/parties which tend to disintegrate Manipur but turn their eyes to the party which has saved Manipur.
"Unlike the previous Government which sold off Manipur by giving various assurances to different communities and pushed Jiribam to the present sorry state of affairs, I would never allow Manipur to go Jiribam's way as long as I'm alive", Biren vowed.
He categorically stated that CAA does not merit any further discussion in the State.
Asking if any neighbouring State bothered to enquire about the people of Manipur when there was prolonged economic blockade on National Highways which led to acute shortage of essential commodities, Biren asserted that it is unnecessary to waste time and energy on irrelevant issues.
It's time for all the people to pay full attention on economically productive activities.
Even though people suffered a lot for a protracted period due to several issues, all the key issues have been resolved during the past three years of BJP's rule, Biren claimed.
He also appealed to all the insurgent groups of the State to come to the negotiating table for dialogue.
Saying that the current time is very favourable for BJP, the Chief Minister appealed to all BJP workers and supporters to take full advantage of it so that the party is re-elected.
He called upon all the BJP workers and supporters to wipe out the name of the political party which tend to break Manipur apart.
Biren went on to ask why some people have been raising all the hullabaloo about an Act which would not be implemented in the State.
Appealing to all the people not to be swayed by rumours and propaganda, Biren urged one and all to focus on personal welfare and rapid development of the State.
Many other BJP leaders also spoke on CAA at the meeting.
Among others, the rally cum public meeting was attended by Deputy Speaker K Robindro, MLAs Sanasam Bira, Heikham Dingo, Dr S Ranjan, L Satyabrata, L Rameshwar and many BJP office bearers.
