Bhalla graces Andro with visit

Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla, accompanied by First Lady Jyoti Bhalla, visited Andro town in Imphal East District today.
The visit aimed to connect with the rich cultural heritage of the region and understand the concerns of the local community, said a press release from Raj Bhavan.
The Governor and the First Lady visited the Sanapokpa Andro Panam Ningthou Meihoubirol, where they offered prayers at the sacred fire place.
Temple priests explained that the site is associated with the deity Panam Ningthou and has been continuously burning for centuries.
During the visit, the Temple committee submitted a memorandum to the Governor highlighting key challenges faced by the local community, including issues related to education, healthcare, transportation, and other essential services, it said.
The Governor also witnessed the traditional rice wine making process, an age-old practice that remains an integral part of Andro's cultural heritage.
At the Common Facilitation Centre for Pottery and Terracotta Crafts, the Governor and the First Lady witnessed a wide array of indigenous pottery products, highlighting Andro's rich craftsmanship.
The Governor also visited the Santhei Natural Park, and witnessed the natural beauty of the region.
Concluding the visit, at Saraswati Bal Vidya Mandir, Andro, the Governor along with the First Lady, interacted with students and the teachers, and donated a computer system, desks and benches along with an interactive flat-panel smart classroom display for the school.
