Imphal, May 26 2024: The State Executive Council of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Manipur was convened from May 25-26, 2024 at Bal Vidya Mandir, Palace Compound.

According to a release issued by ABVP Manipur, the meeting graced by the presence of Govind Nayak, National Joint Organizing Secretary, witnessed robust discussions and drafting of crucial resolutions addressing the pressing socio-political and academic concerns of Manipur.

The council unanimously passed several resolutions aimed at fostering development and stability within the region.

Some of the key resolutions are-
Suspension of FMR System: ABVP Manipur extended a warm welcome to the Government's decision to suspend the Free Movement Regime (FMR) system between India and Myanmar, and added that the move will be seen as pivotal in ensuring the protection and stability of the region.

Protection and Stability of the Region: ABVP Manipur emphasized the serious concern surrounding the protection and stability of Manipur and called for concerted efforts to address this issue comprehensively.

NRC Manipur Implementation: The council resolved to urge the Government for quick and full implementation of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Manipur and added that the step will be crucial in preventing illegal immigration and identifying illegal immigrants already present in the State.

Educational Infrastructure and Staff Shortage: The council acknowledged the significant challenges faced by Manipur's universities and colleges, including Manipur University, Manipur Technical University, and Dhanamanjuri University.

ABVP Manipur called for urgent attention to the selection of regular heads for higher educational institutes and recruitment of teaching and non-teaching staff wherever necessary.

Further, reaffirming its commitment to the welfare and progress of Manipur, the Council urged all stakeholders to collaborate in implementing these resolutions for the betterment of the State and its people.
