Imphal, February 24 2025:
The Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) Women Front has reiterated its demand to lift President's Rule from the State and form a stable Government.
Speaking to reporters at its office at Lamphelpat today, its convenor, RK Tharaksana said the committee members have met State BJP president A Sarda and urged her to meet the Governor to put pressure on him to form a stable Government.
COCOMI Women Front members met A Sarda yesterday, and the BJP leader has assured to call on the Governor, she said.

"A Sarda has agreed to call on the Government and put pressure on the Governor and the Centre to lift President's Rule and form a new Government.
She has also assured to relay the Governor's response to the public after meeting him," said RK Tharaksana.
Addressing the media, COCOMI Women Front co-convenor Lourembam Nganbi said there has been an alleged attempt to prolong President's Rule in the State.
Even as the State Assembly has been put under suspended animation, and President's Rule imposed, the Centre has allegedly instructed legislators not to hold meetings related to formation of Government.
This is clearly an attempt to prolong the Centre's direct rule, she said.
Meanwhile, there has been a crackdown against village volunteers, and the Governor recently has warned of action and asked village volunteers to surrender weapons within 7-days.But, no action is seen taken against Kuki militants who attacked Meitei civilians, she said.
The village volunteers were forced to take up arms in defence against Kuki militants.
While no action has been taken up against the attackers, the village volunteers who are defending the people have been arrested and prosecuted, she said.
The Centre must lift President's Rule and form a stable Government, she reiterated.
