RSS discusses youth, drug abuse and social issues

The three-day Akhil Bharatiya Samanvay Baithak of RSS-inspired organisations concluded on Friday at Gudilova near Visakha-patnam, An-dhra Pradesh, with discussions on social challenges, youth engagement, demographic changes, drug abuse, environment and self-reliant development.
The meeting was attended by 326 delegates, in- cluding 49 women, from 32 organisations.
RSS Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat, Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale and other senior functionaries were present.
RSS Sah Sarkaryavah CR Mukunda said the meeting reviewed relief and rehabilitation work during natural disasters, including floods in Assam, and programmes organised to mark the 650th birth anniversary of Sant Ravidas.
Participants expressed concern over demographic changes and the increasing use of narcotic substances among students and youth.
The meeting stressed that combating drug abuse requires coordinated action by families, educational institutions, social organisations, the administration and police.
Youth concerns, Artificial Intelligence, environmental conservation and the Sangh's centenary-year initiative of Panch Parivartan were also discussed.
The initiative focuses on social harmony, family values, environmental protection and behavioural changes such as reducing plastic use, conserving water and increasing green cover.
The RSS also discussed skill development and self-reliant development models.
Mukunda said systemic shortcomings and concerns raised by young people, including issues related to NEET, should be addressed through constructive cooperation among society and Governments.
The proposed visits of Dr Bhagwat to the United States, Canada and Britain were described as part of the RSS centenary-year outreach programme.
