More assets of NHIDCL official emerge

More details have emerged about the properties owned by Maisnam Riten Kumar Singh, Executive Director and Regional Officer of the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL), who was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on October 14 for allegedly accepting a Rs 10 lakh bribe.
According to a CBI press release, Riten Kumar is found to have invested in various immovable assets, including apartment units, premium office spaces, and residential plots in major cities like Delhi, Bengaluru, and Guwahati, as well as high end vehicles and luxury watches, among other items.
The CBI recovered significant assets during searches at Guwahati, Ghaziabad, and Imphal, including Rs 2.62 crore in cash and documents related to investments in nine premium apartment units, one premium office space, and three residential plots in Delhi; one premium apartment and one residential plot in Bengaluru; four premium apartments and two residential plots in Guwahati; two homestead plots and one agricultural land in Imphal West; six high-end luxury vehicles; two luxury watches valued in lakhs; and a 100 gm silver bar purchased in the name of the public servant and his family, it added.
The CBI added that most of the properties purchased in the name of the accused and his family members seem to be undervalued, which are under investigation.
It said that the accused was arrested while accepting a bribe of Rs 10 lakh from a private person for issuance of favourable extension of time (EOT) and a completion certificate of a project executed by a private company in Assam.
