Free cancer screening continues

A special seven-week cancer-care campaign offering free OPD consultation, cancer screening, and consultation with oncologists is being held at the Karkinos Cancer Hospital, Porompat, Imphal.
Launched on August 15, the campaign will last till October 2 .
During the campaign, people in Manipur and neighbouring States may meet the multidisciplinary oncology team of Karkinos and seek medical advice at no cost.
The initiative is aimed at encouraging people to come forward for timely medical evaluation, and to create greater awareness about the importance of early detection of cancer, said the hospital in a statement.
"Cancer does not always announce itself through obvious symptoms.
Early detection can make a significant difference to treatment outcomes.
Through this campaign, we want to make it easier for people to consult qualified oncology specialists without worrying about the cost of the initial consultation," said the hospital.
People shouldn't wait for symptoms to become severe before seeking medical advice.
Individuals with a family history of cancer, persistent or unexplained health concerns, or those who wish to undergo a cancer-related health evaluation are encouraged to make use of the campaign, it said.
The hospital said it also accepts and facilitates treatment services under Chief Ministergi Hakshelgi Tengbang (CMHT) and Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY).
The hospital also facilitates cashless and reimbursement services through leading Third-Party Administrators (TPAs) .
The campaign is part of Karkinos Cancer Hospital's continuing effort to make comprehensive cancer care more accessible to the people of Manipur, combining expert oncology care with advanced diagnostics and supportive services.
