Imphal, April 18 2025:
Rajya Sabha MP Leishemba Sanajaoba has highlighted disunity among the people as a bigger issue than the ongoing conflict.
He made the remark while inspecting the sacred site of Ema Nungthabi Lairembi at Hidam Pat in Sekta village, Imphal East for renovation.
The RS MP was accompanied by Kh Ibomcha, MLA, Lamlai AC and Professor P Gunindro, Vice Chancellor, Manipur University of Culture during the visit.
Assuring that the renovation work will begin shortly, Leishemba Sanajaoba said that he had wanted to revamp the sacred site for a while and took on the task after being reminded by representatives from Sekta village.
Referring to the Manipur crisis, he maintained that the situation in Manipur is not an easy affair, but not impossible for truth to prevail.
However, he pointed out that instead of uniting at this critical juncture, many people have resorted to mud-slinging and mockery on social media, causing more discord within the community.
The MP said that mistakes should be forgiven and misunderstandings or problems should be resolved in private instead of bringing them out on social platforms and ruining people's reputation.
"When the people are united, defeating the enemy is not difficult", he added.
