Imphal, July 17: The Samajwadi Party today said that it has decided to raise an adjournment motion during the monsoon session of the Parliament beginning July 23 if the Centre fails to withdraw the decision to extend,- ceasefire coverage before it becomes operational from August 1.The party's assurance was given by the national president Mulayam Singh Yadav when a delegation of State MPs and MLAs called on him today.

The delegation apprised him of the prevailing situation and seriousness of the crisis facing the State in the back drop of the Centre's announcement of the agreement to extend the NSCN (IM) truce to areas of Manipur and other neighboring States in the North East.

The representatives of the State MPs and MLAs Forum comprising of Speaker Dr S Dhananjoy, former Deputy CM Dr L Chandramani and former Ministers H Lokhon, Okram Joy, Govindas Konthoujam, H Bidur and S Chandra briefed the former Union Defence Minister about the ground reality in the State.

They also sought Mulayam�s own and his party's support to the demand of the people of Manipur.

The delegation further urged the Samajwadi Party leader to raise an adjournment motion against the ceasefire extension without territorial limits, on the first day of the Parliament Session itself.

The State leaders voiced their apprehension that the Centre's agreement with the NSCN (IM) to extend the truce boundary beyond Nagaland may prove costly for the Union Government and the nation.

They also added that the people will not at any cost compromise with their territorial boundary which they had brought intact when the then Princely State was merged with the Indian Union on October 15, 1949.The Samajwadi president who is also the convenor of the newly floated multi-party People's Front assured the State leaders that his party with 26 MPs in the Lok Sabha will definitely move the motion on the opening day of the session taking into consideration the seriousness of the crisis in Manipur.

Mulayam further said that the Centre has committed a wrong and unpardonable mistake by taking unilateral decision on such a sensitive issue involving the territorial integrity of NE States without consulting respective State Governments and leaders.

He appreciated the people of the State saying they are struggling for protection of their territory and not for its expansion.
