KSO, ANSAM suspend proposed highway stir

Kangpokpi, February 17 2016:
Kuki Students' Organization-GHQ and All Naga Students' Association, Manipur (ANSAM) have decided to suspend its proposed indefinite National highways bandh in the State schedule to begin today midnight.
The decision of the two student bodies was taken in a joint meeting held this afternoon in view of the February 16 Cabinet meeting's approval for recruitment of 1582 primary and 419 graduate teachers and the Cabinet's decision of taking up suitable policy decision to recruit the contract basis teachers of the hill schools under the Directorate of Education (S) .
Meanwhile, the student bodies expressed gratitude to all the constituent units, sub-ordinate bodies, other pressure groups and well wishers who extended unflinching support to the joint efforts of the two organizations in its demand for adequate teachers in the hill schools and toward the cause of the long suffered contract teachers under Education (S) .
