Setting the ball get rolling for the upcoming the 9th State Assembly Election, the draft Electoral Rolls of all the 60 Assembly Constituencies have been published by the Election Registration Officers (EROs) concerned today.
Announcing this in a statement, Chief Electoral Officer RR Rashmi said the draft Electoral Rolls have been published today as per the schedule fixed by the Election Commission of India.
The general public/electors and representatives of political parties may inspect or verify the draft Electoral Rolls at the offices of the EROs/AEROs as well as at all the designated polling stations upto November 10.They may also file or lodge claims/objection/corrections in the prescribed forms which are available free of cost at these designated locations during the entire revision claim period from October 16 to November 10.One printed copy of the draft Electoral Rolls of each Assembly Constituency will also be made available by the EROs concerned and another copy in CD ROM by the CEO's office free of cost to the recognised National and State political parties.
The political parties may depute their authorised representatives for the purpose of collecting the same from the offices of the CEO and EROs concerned.
However, if any additional copy of the draft Electoral Rolls is required, the same can also be purchased at the rate of Rs 2 per page and at the rate of Rs 1 per half page or part there of, and the CD ROM at the rate of Rs 300 per CD ROM per AC.
The claims/objections filed by the public during the prescribed period will be disposed of by the EROs concerned on or before November 30 and the final Electoral Rolls containing the supplement list of additional deletions and correction will be published by the EROs concerned on January 3, 2007.The 9th State Assembly Election is slated to be held sometime in February
next year.
