House agrees on three Bills

Imphal, May 16: The State Assembly has today unanimously agreed to introduce three separate Bills including the Manipur Reservation of Vacancies in Post and Services (For SC and ST) Second Amendment Bill, 2007 during the current session.

The other two Bills are The Electricity (Manipur Amendment) Bill, 2007 and The Manipur Loktak Lake (Protection) Amendment Bill, 2007.Taking into account of the urgency to discuss and pass the SC/ST reservation Bill, the Speaker asked to place the same to the Chairman of Hill Area Committee.

Mention may be made that the re-introduction of such reservation bill is one of the main demands of the agitating ATSUM.

The other two bills are likely to be discussed on May 19 session, sources said.
