Imphal, May 13 2026: A complaint has been filed with the police alleging "detention" of 23 individuals at Senapati Petrol Pump located at Rikhumai Taphou by "locals" and a student organisation this afternoon.

Detailing particulars of the 23 individuals, Taphou Kuki Village chairman, in his complaint with the Senapati police, said the individuals were returning from work in 8 vehicles when they were stopped at two locations, Senapati Petrol Pump, Rikhumai Taphou and Phyamai Taphou near Mt Everest College entrance gate.

They were allegedly detained by locals and Senapati District Students Association and "reportedly taken towards Karong", said the police complaint.

It claimed the vehicles were under the escort of the State police force, and the incident occured in the presence of the State police and Central Police Force.

The complaint sought the police to register an FIR and rescue the individuals.
