Imphal, December 12: For the second day today, AICC general secretary and Northeast in-charge Prithiviraj Chauhan who is currently here as a Central observer of the party to get first hand account of the crisis within CLP continued to meet CLP members, office bearers of the party and other frontal organisations to hear their opinion on the issue.

Later in the evening, Chauhan called on the Governor at Raj Bhavan to discussion the political development in the State.

The Central observer would be leaving Imphal for Delhi tomorrow to submit the report of his visit to the State with the High Command of the AICC.

After the yesterday's meeting with CLP members individually at Hotel Imphal till 10 pm, Chauhan continued his meeting with other CLP members who were left to hear the opinion on the issue of leadership crisis within CLP since 9.30 am today.

According to information received by the press, the Central observer asked each of the CLP members individually whether they have any resentment on the developmental fronts and why they would cant to change the leadership and whom they would support as the new leader.

Private secretary of the Observer, who was present during all these meetings took note of every comments and instantly relayed the same to AICC president Sonia Gandhi.

Some of the MLAs from the dissident group informed that during the meeting they have drawn the attention of the observer to the issues related to lack of transparency in governance under the leadership of O Ibobi Singh, failure in maintaining law and order and so the revolt of the dissident MLAs is for change of leadership and not for power.

As to who should be appointed as the leader in place of Ibobi, the dissident MLAs said that they have made it clear to the observer that even if Law and Legislative Affairs Minister Th Debendra is being projected as the leader, they would not have any complaint when AICC appoint any other person as the leader.

However, until and unless, Ibobi is not removed, they would continue their camp.

The meeting with the Central observer was a success, the dissident MLAs claimed.

On the other hand, some of the Ministers who are loyal to Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh claimed that have been able to present a clear picture of the developmental works that taken been taken up or in near completion under the leadership of Ibobi to the Central observer.

Along with convincing that observer that the law and order situation in the State has been brought under control by the State forces, they have also make it clear that they still have confidence on the leadership of Ibobi.

The meeting with the observer was satisfactory, the loyalists also claimed.

After the meeting with the CLP members, the Central observer went together in a car along with MPCC president Gaikhangam and Chief Minister O Ibobi to Congress Bhavan, while the members of the dissident and loyalist groups went on their separate ways.

Later in the afternoon, Prithiviraj Chauhan also met the office bearers of MPCC, frontal and cell leaders and presidents of District Congress at Congress Bhavan to hear their comments and opinions as well on the issue.

An interesting scene that unfolded at Congress Bhavan was that out of the 14 district presidents, 10 of them came together in a vehicle belonging to one group while 4 others in another vehicle belonging to the other camp while coming to meet the observer.

After the meeting, they also left in similar manner.

Some of the district presidents claimed that their respective camp would emerge victorious ultimately.

During the last six years of Congress rule in the State under the leadership of Chief Minister of Ibobi Singh, it is the first time that AICC was constraint to send a Central observer to hear the opinion of the CLP members individually following leadership crisis.
