Imphal, December 11 2008: Asserting that after Manipur merged with the Indian Union in 1949 her political system, social system and economy has been turned upside down, even threatening the National identity, the proscribed KYKL and UNLF in a joint statement said that today the society stands divided due to the machinations of India.

The introduction of concepts like ST, SC, OBC under the Constitution of India has sown the seeds of division amongst the indigenous people, said the joint statement signed by self styled general secretary of KYKL, N Oken and self styled general secretary of UNLF, N Thabal.

The mass influx of outsiders today pose a threat to the identity of the people of Manipur, said the statement and added that India has been pumping in bundles of money to lull the people so Manipur can never stand up for herself as a Nation, as a people and as a society.

In such a situation the need for all the revolutionary organisations is to follow certain principles, said KYKL and UNLF and enumerated them point by point.

To defeat the divide and rule policy perpetrated under the mask of democracy it is necessary to build unity based on mutual respect for the identities of all communities, inter-dependence and coexistence, said the statement.

The two outfits also mooted the idea of adopting the finer points of governance from the earlier days to defeat the policy of divide and rule, espoused by the Constitution of India.

To save the people from the effects of influx of outsiders as well as Indianisation process and promote co-operation and unity as well as to neutralise the culture of corruption encouraged by India and try to build a new society.

To realise the stated needs, the two outfits then furnished the decisions taken jointly by the Central Committees of the KYKL and UNLF.

The statement said that the two outfits will extend all help and co-operation to any efforts to fight the propaganda of hatred amongst the people of Manipur as well as to rebuild the society based on the beautiful culture of the past and to meet any challenges that pose a threat to this.

To stop the continuous influx of outsiders to Manipur, the two outfits will take up certain measures, said the joint statement and added that this include torching vehicles bringing in such outsiders, awarding harsh punishments to the drivers transporting them as well as expelling the outsiders.

The joint statement further said that efforts will be taken up to defeat the mindset of depending on others for survival by tapping all the needed resources at hand.

In order to save the place as well as the people from the onslaught of the agenda unleashed by India, the two outfits have imposed bans on certain activities.

Accordingly the outfit said that other than religious events, a ban has been put on hosting grand feasts by any individual, group or organisation.

A stop on the use of all intoxicants which can lead to loss of moral as well as presenting gifts by anyone for their personal gain.

Violators will be awarded harsh punishment including barring from further working in their present capacity without any prior warning, added the statement.

The statement said the firm decisions have been taken in the face of the need to save the land and the people from the agenda unleashed by India.
