Describing as theatrical preelection pledges made to the people by the Congress party, State unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party asserted that the saffron party coming back to power in the Centre is inevitable.
Speaking as the chief guest at the day-long workers' conference organised by BJP Yaiskul Mandal at Wangkhei Puja Lampak today, State unit president Dr Haobam Borbabu predicted that the ruling Congress-led SPF coalition would not survive in Manipur after the Parliamentary elections.
The former State Assembly Speaker Dr Borbabu also dismissed as cosmetic and political ploy promises made by the Congress during its pre-election campaign which he expressed is only to hoodwink the people to grab power.
Accusing the SPF Government of being incapable to protect life and property of the citizens, Dr Borbabu expressed that such a Government do not deserve to exist any longer.
Referring to the recent incidents of bomb blast in some parts of the country, he opined that administrative inefficiency and lack of commitment and political will on the part of the Congress-led UPF Government has emboldened terror groups to strike at will.
Recounting that the Prime Minister himself had already conceded of derailment in the intelligence network, the chief guest affirmed that with the BJP in power in many larger States the party regaining power in New Delhi is a non-issue.
With change of power in the Centre after the forthcoming Parliamentary elections inevitable change of guard here in the State is certain, he maintained and substantiated his assertion by highlighting that many political heavyweights have either been joining or returning to the BJP.
BJP nominees would also contest both the Inner and Outer Manipur Parliamentary seats, he conveyed.
Among others former Chief Minister RK Dorendra also spoke on the occasion and clarified that himself and other BJP members left the saffron party due to imposition of restriction and intimidation to the political party.
Dorendra, who recently returned to the BJP, insisted that among all national political parties only the CPI and BJP sacredly stick to party principle and ideology.
The veteran politician also stated that State unit of the BJP has already begun pre-poll exercises to ensure success of party candidates in the parliamentary elections.
The conference was also attended and addressed by general secretary of BJP Manipur Pradesh Prof Tiken, ex-MLA Meinam Bhorot, vice president of Mahila Morcha Rose Mangshi and other leaders.
Representatives of BJP's frontal organisations were also present at the occasion.
Meanwhile, national executive member of BJP's youth wing Laimayum Basanta Sharma informed that National President LK Advani along with other party leaders are scheduled to arrive here in the State for which State leaders are preparing tour itinerary for the high profile visit.
In addition to confiding that the conference resolved to prepare a dossier christened 'Manipur agenda for governance' ahead of the polls, he said new policies on various aspects such as economy, education, agriculture, sports, IT sector, art and culture etc would be incorporated in the agenda.
He also revealed that State unit of a national political party would merge with the BJP very soon.
