Outlaw COCOMI, KIM demands

The Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) has urged Union Home Minister Amit Shah to declare COCOMI as an outlaw for allegedly inciting communal passion.
In a memorandum addressed to the Union Home Minister, the KIM asked to expedite total separation of Kukis from the Meitei people.
It said that the Kuki people are facing direct and open threats from the Meiteis yet again.
The well calculated and systematic suppression, oppression, threats, and all atrocities on the Kuki people physically and mentally have once again demonstrated the urgent need for total separation from Manipur for a long lasting peace to prevail in the region and settle the problem once and for all, it said.
The COCOMI has openly declared Manipuri National war on 'Chin-Kuki Narco-terrorists' as decided in the people's convention organised by them on 7th June 2023 .
The Meitei Leepun chief has warned of delivering a powerful 'blow' to the Kuki.
"We are now facing the real existential threat from neighbouring Meiteis which categorically rejects the idea of 'living together again", it said.
"They give all sorts of names such as 'illegal immigrants,' 'outsiders,' 'tenants,' 'poppy planters,' 'forest encroachers,' 'terrorists,' 'drugs dealers,' and what nots to us.
They have now coined a new term 'NARCO-TERRORISTS' to give to the Kuki people.
In doing so, their communal agenda becomes quite evident", KIM said.
The man who unleashed terror on innocent Kuki people in Imphal valley since May 3; their untold tales of harrowing ordeals; unclaimed dead bodies; unabated aggression on Kuki land and the one who orchestrated these catastrophes on Kuki people qualifies to be called a ' terrorist' than others.
People of the State, including Meitei CSOs are very much aware who this person is.
Meitei CSOs coined the term 'narco-terrorists' in their frantic attempt to gamer support; justify and project the pogrom to suit their majoritarian agenda.
It has become clearer now that the ethnic cleansing on Kuki people in Imphal valley is funded by 'narco-terrorists' who are very powerful and others who are close to power.
On 19th May, 2023, Kh Raghumani Singh, MLA of Uripok AC wrote to your good self, requesting for expedited action in the Delhi police-Manipur Drugs case of Feb 2023.In this case, which involved the arrest of two key suppliers of international narco-drug cartel namely; Ranbir Singh alias Tinku and Loyangamba Itocha.
50 kgs of opium worth more than Rs 10 crore in international market were brought from Manipur and seized at Delhi.
The MLA boldly underlined that the people of Manipur truly believe that there are very well connected, and very powerful political families involved in the menace of drugs business in Manipur.
Public memory is also still afresh with another big drug case which resulted in the resignation of a lady MPS officer to register protest against the 2018 drug case dealing by the N Biren Government.
In this case too and as per the affidavit of the lady MPS officer, people who are very close to the CM were said to be involved.
Sadly, no major drug seizure cases including those two has been unsolved.
Speculation is rife among the public that the fund generated through these drug trades by people in power is being used to finance the campaign against the Kuki people in Manipur, the KIM alleged.
"While we also support such war on 'narco-terrorists,' cutting across communal divides, particularly the kingpins, the COCOMI chooses to add a communal colour to their 'War' by dragging the name 'Chin-Kuki' .
Why the COCOMI did not declare war on 'Meitei Narco-Terrorists' or other communities shows their hypocrisy and their open dislike of the Kuki tribal community", it said.
The COCOMI's public consultation also resolved not to surrender looted arms saying that this is not the time to surrender arms rather a time to arm all abled persons.
It also avowed not to allow combing operations in the valley.
They even asked the Government to provide arms to the public so that they continue causing havoc, it added.
