AMSU's academic campaign continues

Imphal, August 06 2026: As part of the 61st Chaklam Khongchat observance, the All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU) on Thursday organised academic campaigns at various schools across the State under its ongoing Regeneration Month. In Imphal East district, the campaign was held at Halleey English School, Soibam Leikai.

Speaking at the event, AMSU vice-president Naorem Wangamba said it is important to educate students on the history of struggles faced by past leaders and on how the present generation can overcome challenges and move forward.

He added that it is unfortunate that despite leaders' efforts to protect the land, the present Government has failed to take a firm stand.

The failure to ensure legal protection for indigenous people is paving the way for demographic change, he said.

Similar academic campaigns were also held at Khundrakpam High School, Leishemba Maheikol, Kangla Sangomshang, Cosmo Politan High School in Imphal East district; Mangal Kids School and Pemton School, Ningthoukhong in Bishnupur district; Blossom School, Comprehensive School and Brilliance School in Imphal West district; and Wabagai Higher Secondary, Kakching Public School, Lamjing Lampak Maheikol Keirak, and Sanatombi High School in Kakching district.
