Speaking to the media, AMRTD&MWU general secretary Maimom Anil said representatives from the union and its partner associations briefed NHIDCL Regional Office (Kohima) Executive Director RP Singh on the challenges faced by drivers on the Imphal-Dimapur route due to the road collapse at Phesama.
According to Anil, RP Singh stated that the road repair could be finished in 10 days if the land issue is settled.
He added that they offered to lend machinery to NHIDCL to facilitate the repair work.
Anil also said that representatives of the three drivers' unions held a meeting with the Phesama Village Council chairman to address the road closure issue.
The village chairman, after being urged to resolve the land issue, expressed his willingness to settle it soon, potentially today, he said.
