DC Kangpokpi convenes meeting on child protection

Kangpokpi, July 04 2024: The District Administration Kangpokpi led by Deputy Commissioner, Mahesh Chaudhari, IAS, held a meeting with officials of an NGO, Integrated Rural Management Association (IRMA) at the DC Conference Hall to conduct mass campaigns on child marriage, to stop child labour and child trafficking in the district.

The meeting chaired by the Deputy Commissioner was attended by District Level Officers including District Child Protection Officer and Child Welfare Committee.

The Chief Medical Officer and the District Child Protection Officer informed that fortunately, no such cases have been reported so far in the district.

Later, the Deputy Commissioner directed the District Transport Officials to be vigilant in conducting vehicle checks and to set up a check post at the earliest.

Meanwhile, IRMA secretary T Lamjaneng requested the District Administration Kangpokpi to nominate a District Nodal Officer for Kangpokpi in order to organize awareness campaigns in schools, colleges and relief camps.

Deputy Commissioner Mahesh Chaudhari further gave a firm assurance that the District Administration Kangpokpi will provide all necessary support to IRMA and other NGOs functioning within the district in their efforts to stop child marriage, child labour and child trafficking.
