Welred Foundation confers National Excellency Award on Sobita Maibam

Imphal, June 04 2024: Welred Foundation, a non-profit organisation based in West Bengal has presented Certificate of Appreciation to Sobita Maibam for outstanding contributions as a social worker as a part of National Excellency Award 2024.The appreciation certificate has been presented to Sobita Maibam recognising her remarkable contributions over the past 20 years for the wellbeing of the society.

Expressing joy upon receiving such an honour, Sobita maintained that the acknowledgement by Welred Foundation will encourage her to continue with the selfless work for the upliftment of the society despite the several challenges faced by her.

Notably, Sobita had been conferred Dr Ambedkar Fellowship National Award 2023 and Mother Teresa National Award 2023.Sobita Maibam was bom on September 16, 1973 at Thoubal Nongangkhong Bamon Leirak as a daughter of Waikhom Ibopishak and Waikhom (O) Manjuri Devi.

She got married to late Maibam Premkumar Singh in 1994 of Wangjing Bazar Thong Wangma and has two daughters and one son.

It is worth mentioning that she has been making sincere efforts for the welfare of the society and is a member of the philanthropic organisation Like Minded Group (LMG) Manipur and is working as the secretary of Leimarembi Old Age Home, Social Reforms Re Organization Thoubal District and Wangjing Bazar Co-operative Society as well.
