UKLF claims hand in killing

Imphal, August 28: United Kuki Liberation Front (UKLF) has clarified that Henpao Haokip was awarded capital punishment for his alleged anti-party activities in Pallet area since 2000.UKLF had given warnings to him threes times but he did not heed, publicity secretary of the outfit NC Brohlin said in a statement.

According to the statement, the first warning was given to him in September, 2000, the second in March 2002 and the third and the last warning in March 2003.In the last warning, Henpao had signed on a paper confessing to his crimes and swearing not to commit the same in future in the presence of the representatives of Pallel Area Chiefs' Association.

But he continued to indulge in anti-party activities and so he was shot dead, UKLF said.
