AR conducts medical camps, celebrates chief's birthday

Assam Rifles conducted a medical camp at Walkhu village in Churachandpur district on May 30, benefiting 186 villagers, including 65 women and 75 children.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that the AR doctors provided consultations, examinations and medications at the camp wherein special focus was given on educating the villagers about environment, hygiene, sanitation, and lifestyle and contagious diseases, followed by the ways to prevent them.
Assam Rifles also conducted health check-ups and provided medical assistance at Sehlon, New Samtal, Kovang, Tuitong, Gelngai, Kanan and Paldai villages area in Chandel district on Saturday.
The villagers are bereft of basic healthcare facilities in these remote locations and have been affected by the cyclone Remal and its aftermath, said the PRO.
On the other-hand, Assam Rifles organised a memorable 100th birthday celebration for Joseph Tuthung, the former headman of Kasong village in Kamjong district.
Informing that the occasion marked the achievement of a milestone by the former headman and also served as a testament to the enduring bonds between the locals and the AR, PRO IGAR (S) said in another release that in a gesture of perennial support and strong community ties, AR extended their assistance by providing refreshments and presents that was greatly appreciated by all the locals present.
