AR leads 'Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan' in Tengnoupal

Imphal, July 19 2025: As part of its ongoing commitment to combat the escalating issue of substance abuse, Assam Rifles conducted 'Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan' campaign at New Shijang village in Tengnoupal district.

According to PRO IGAR (S), the campaign, with a particular emphasis on youth, sought to highlight the detrimental effects .of drug abuse and encourage the adoption of a healthy, drug-free lifestyle within the community.

The awareness session, organised and delivered by Assam Rifles officials, was attended by 25 villagers who actively engaged with the programme.

During the session, officials sensitised participants to the physical, psychological and social ramifications of substance abuse.

The importance of community involvement and family support, as well as the crucial role of local institutions in both preventing and addressing addiction, was firmly underscored.

Attendees were encouraged to become advocates for a drug-free village by raising further awareness among family members and those at risk, the PRO stated.
